Fuel cap wont lock ??

Post by Retro »

Does anyone know if this is a fix job, or get a new one ?
I have done my best with WD40 etc. Key turns but wont lock in place ?

Think I'll just add it to the list of "to do's" left for me by the previous owner

Hi Fishtail,

It did make me laugh seeing your name on most of the Technical issue posts when searching !, I think I may be catching you up as the more jobs I fix the more knew ones I find.

Yes, the cap goes on and twist round as it should, the key goes in and turns 90' but then wont come out or lock the cap in place ??

An odd one, I am thinking it may be easier to just buy a fancy colour one to make it look good. Although, I have no idea what will fit.

Cheers

Have a search, from memory one of our Australian friends found an XR one fitted.

I would imagine only XR***L would fit as enduro XRs have plastic screw on caps. MTX will fit as will quite a lot of others - all listed in a previous post.
