How tight do the five bolts have to be done up on the clutch? are they reamed up tight? or finger tight?.

Just nipped up I think in a criss-cross manner, not very tight off the top of my head. Someone may correct me or give you the correct figures.

Yea, their only an M6 10mm head, so half a spanners leverage should be enough.
Duo to the spring pressure there releasing themselves is very unlikely.

Are there notches in the fingers of the clutch basket :?: .

Are the cable and arm at the end of the cable able to move freely without resistance :?: .

The whole clutch lever, cable assembly are new, and the basket is in pretty good shape as well, so all I can assume is the oil is too sticky, I am using silcolene medium weight gear oil which has not caused a problem before. :?:
