Hi, I am Stu , from Sunny Dorset.
I have just purchased a 1990 Crm , (its a dog) paid top money too
Compared to the pictures of the ones on this site , it looks like I found it in a skip .
But it will be used and abused so it does not matter what it looks like, I am not into polishing bikes , I like to ride them.
So I wont be posting any pictures of it
Anyway can anyone tell me if the two stoke oil cap (Plug) in the frame, is vented, as I need one, it looks like I will have to make one , as I cant seem to find them for sale anywhere on the interweb.
Thanks in advance Stu

No, as far as I know there unvented, so a rubber bung should do the job, like one of those old red stoppers for wine flagons.
Flagons ? FFS, I sound like something out of Barnaby Rudge.
Oh, incidentally, the reservoir isn't empty when the level drops below the sight glass tube, that's there to tell you the tank is nearly full when filling, though in practise, the oil gushes out of the top, just as it shows on the tube, 8-[[.

Ok thanks for that, must find an old flagon with a stopper.
I thought it might have been vented so the oil would flow, but on the other hand don't want water getting in whist going through rivers .

They are vented otherwise there would be a vacuum created.

Ah conflicting information
I thought it ought to be vented , as not to create a vacuum , but couldn't think of the word vacuum .
Any chance of some kind soul posting a picture of one, so I know for certain ?

Steve's correct, the bung has a plate inside, with a tiny hole through to the outside to allow breathing, like a fuel cap.

Thanks for that , as I said I have searched the net for a bung,
Never thought parts would be so difficult to get.
Might have to reconsider , and move this bike on.
Don't really want something you can't get bits for.

Trouble is a dog needs too much attention and £s spent on it, as all dogs do.
