Hello!
Had a bit of an issue with my CRM rebuild... the water pump gear was cracked as i opened it and didn't look like it would need a replace.
Now as i was going for a ride the temp indicator lighted up several times making me check the problem. And yes i know, i know... if it's cracked, then replace it but...
i had faith on that little plastic peace would not let me down. But now i found it in bits after i opened the clutch cover.
Could someone please tell me the part nr of a new gear or which one would fit?

Good old Steve!! You have to be extremely careful when assembling the clutch cover to ensure the gears mesh, don't force it. If it doesn't go, turn the kickstart gently by hand and try again. Repeat until it pops on. i didn't know this, but someone told me, luckily before I smacked mine to make it go on!!

They are always cracking, due to heat mainly.
It will not crack up, it just shows cracks, no problem to keep using it.
LT refits them with hairline cracks.

Mine had cracks in you could just about Get your thumb nail in. LT said it would be fine but I choose to have a new one to be safe.

Yay!
Took that clutch cover to my good old buddy and he made a new waterpump gear
In no-time! Made of some bakelite and reinforced with a small bronze ring
Lets see if it cracks again. Now lets play seek n hide with the police again.

You're not supposed to re use the mechanical seal but you may get away with it.

I couldnt get the impeler off without using mayor force. The shop maybe tried to
Take it of, too with no succes. By turning the impeler with a tool, the shaft startet to slip
Inside the now broken gear. Thats why i decided to let it that way and just install the new gear.
Have some mercy AR
