well turned out there were 10,far too many ill never ride this many again, from folk getting left behind??!!to clowns riding too fast for conditions and coming off, new guys from elsewhere ,racing off past me like loons ,and this is the problem with riding with folk you dont know ,all my group are sensible and no-one gets hurt ,this was going to be carnage, luckily one of them had an issue with gearbox loosing oil so only out till 2.30pm ,how i survived ill never know,a memorable day for all the wrong reasons

Sound like a disaster Gary, I was gutted when I saw how nice the weather was today. I have stripped my bike down now, piston is scored along with the barrel, also notice play in my big end bearing. Also destroyed various panels and lvers in the crash, not going to be cheap!!!

Side to side play is OK, there should be NO up and down along the direction of the con rod.

There must be a reason for seizing. If you don't fix the problem it will do the same next time.

sorry to hear it turned out a bad day given the decent weather for this time of year ,and why so many ? would have been better to split into 2 groups then the idiots could have cleared off into the distance :(

Oh yes, that's why I ride solo so often   .
It does get tedious when you're leading a ride to constantly get overtaking by those who don't actually know the way, sometimes it's quite tempting to take another side track when some have cleared of into the distance.
I pulled out of an organised ride a few weeks back when the complete kn@b in front of me kept slowing right down, then cranking the throttle wide open on his mighty 250 orange fourbanger, this was especially unappreciated in front of some houses on an already very sensitive lane, he was far from in the the first flush of youth  .
The older I get the less tolerant I seem to be getting, I think I will soon get a spot on that grumpy old gits programme.

Couldnt do 2 groups as only 1 bloke knows his way around, big group due to folk bringing others unannounced
