Thats a nice history lesson there but why are the BBC saying its illigal to ride through pin dale its a fully legal green lane I'v ridden it a few times and apart from being a bit tough in places its really good. Still intresting about the lead mining from 2000 years ago tho. Well spotted back off road

it was more the illegal to ride off road that concerned me but as you say the history lesson was nice everydays a school day

reading further into things related articles derbyshire county council seem anti bike and want to encourage mountain bikes and ramblers

Yea they are pretty anti bike but were you can ride they do advertise well and have sighns up so walkers and every one else does know there are bikes about. I think its more moaning walkers who tell the county council that we are all awfull. I always stick to the rules but some times its not enough for some people.

The article actually states the track is LEGAL:

"The site has been particularly vulnerable because it lies near an unsurfaced track which is legal for vehicles and trail bikes"

So was the quarry previously legal and now illegal ?

Oh yes now I have re read it does say that it is legal to ride there I'll stop moaning about it to everyone. its bin a tough day so far I'v been re building a roof on a sheep shelter in the rain its not bin good I'll blame that.

Yes, I have to agree, for a change they have gone out of their way to state the lane is legal.
There is still the undertone that the "tossers on crossers", are in some way associated with what's a perfectly legal pastime.
I think it's rich for the Rambliars to be dissing other ROW user groups, when their whole movement was born out of completely ILLEGAL activities,, namely a mass trespass, on Kinder-scout, back in the Thirties, when Trail riding as an activity was already well established.

fallenmikethebike you have done your home work I never knew that all this went back as far as the thirties. ps just got in from fixin ma rear brake as it only had a spoon full of brake fluild in it and it passed its MOT last week very strange but it works a lot better now.

Result, well of sorts, most MOT stations aren't quite as laid back.

Well its a result but it fail 1st time on not have in correctly seated rear tire as the moose was causing the tire to bulge very slightly and not have a rear reflector and having a front valve at an angle.I wont be going there again.

I understood Mooses to not be a legal fitting for road use?

Its pretty pathetic, but ive found no MOT stations will pass a bike without a rear reflector. So i bought 12 on ebay for a few quid!

had a look at the tubliss , they look a good idea but has anyone tried them yet ?
