Hi , just got a mk3 not been offroad yet but it appears to very easy to ride.
I mainly take part in long distance road trials and find my XR400 abit too top heavy ? dont know how to discribe it it just feels heavy to ride compared to the crm? even though on paper its supposed to be lighter!
The crm's in great condition appart from the kick start which is very worn/sloppy can anyone confirm that the cr250 2002-2007 is a direct fit ? don't want to spend £95 on one if its not!
many thanks , great site!

I bought a 2003 CR250 kickstart that fitted straight on. £95 is a bit steep for a second hand one though :!: .

Thanks for reply £95 was for a new cr one thought it would be stronger than the CRM one and easier to find .
I've seen that dealers want £70 ish for second hand ones on ebay bit steep ? will wait for a private add to come up!
Thanks

Whilst a new CRM250 Mk1/2/3 kickstart made of steel, hits the tank, and rusts; costs £123 a CR250 kickstart made of aluminium, doesn't hit the tank, and doesn't rust; costs £95 and is ~300g lighter.

I wonder which one I'd go for if a needed a new one  .

:D Hi Welcome, if your doing a lot of LDTs it's well worth, no actually, essential to retro fit a small fan on one of the rads to aid cooling, a computer magnetic fan works best, it only needs to be about a 50 mm to keep her cool when the going stops going.
I uploaded a load of pictures and a brief description of one way of doing this a while back.
