What are we not good enough to get one of these here? I have thought of all there was around it, but converting my sweet 01 cr 250 to a street legal version was never going to happen. So I bought a 1984 DT200 yamaha, mint shape stored for almost 20 years. (Been riding it for about 9 months to and from soccer etc) While looking for info on the power valve control unit i stumble across a comparison between the crm and the dt. Who cares about the comparison, I know that I need to get a CRM here- pronto. From this web site I have learned a lot. Although we have had the 4 stroke crf's here forever, the Cr's still have a loyal following, as the off road here in BC is more suited for the 2 stroke. I cant believe until today I never knew the CRM even existed- I am elated!!! Any way hope to figure out if the mark 3 or the AR is the best choice for me, then find one and buy it. Lots for sale on the Japanese sites but, cant understand the language all that well.
Just went for a rip today with my friend his 07 cr250 me 01 cr250, at Squamish BC ( close to Whistler) great ride we beat our self in some rediculously hard trails, but made it through.

As far as I'm aware the CRM was a Japan only bike. Some ARs were officially imported into Australia but that was about it.

The UK had thousands imported but was never Honda endorsed though they will supply spares. They have found their way almost all over the globe because they are very good bikes.

There are a few CRMs in Canada and there are a few more in the US. Mostly Mk1s & 2s. - No ARs to my knowledge and I would not recommend an AR to you as they require more spares/upkeep than the others and finding spares will be difficult/expensive.
