G'day all,

OK I am an OZi expat now living in the UK I am missing the beach and surfing so the next best thing is to thrash around on a sweet bike.

I have decided after much reasearch that it simply has to be CRM! I have around 1500 quid to spend.

A few questions

1. Any ride height difference between the MK2, MK3, AR I like em big! :o

2. Should I buy a banger and spend on rebuilding or in your opinion better off getting a fairly sorted bike at the top end of my budget. (that keeps growing)

3. What do I need to look/lookout for when viewing used machines.

4. Any sugggestions on where to find em apart from Ebay, Bike Trader, MCN, Leisure Trail.

Cheers fellas!

Mines up for sale @ the moment, but I'm off on holiday 2morro early am.
Look under my name in the 4 sale section.
Better off buying off of a CRM owner rather than someone who buys and sells;with history is always better and specific work carried out noted. :D

Point 2; you will always spend money anyway.
Buying a banger is an option but be prepared for expense,I spent loads on mine because the plonker who had it before did nothing for 18 months..oh except thrash it.
Don't be rushed into buying anything,it's a buyers market(prolly shot myself in the foot  ) but as you've specified a certain make and model you've narrowed down your choices.
Paid £1150(?) f0r mine in Feb...spent in excess of £500,done loads..only thing I would do if I keep it is to add sopme new decals :D

Get yourself a Mk3. Most sorted without the extra complication of AR system. Also more easy to gain performance than AR if you're that way inclinded.

If you want to pose get a mint AR

If you see a wreck - guarantee that you will pay twice as much as you can see needs doing; but you have the satisfaction of knowing that it is all 'yours'.

that man knackered knows his onions . mk3 is the best option, better suspension, more torquey engine, probly newer, more modern looks, first thing to check out when inspecting a prospective new donk is wheel bearings, these things eat em and head race bearings, listen carefully to the motor for a whirring noise, this is balencershaft bearing noise if the gear oil hasnt been regularly changed they suffer, other than that the bikes pretty bullet proof, theres still a few minters out there, pick one up private for around 1500quid add acouple of hunred from a dealer just dont buy the first one you see, look at a few some are very tired looking
