Just passed my test and bought a Mk3 crm, first time i took it out no probs all was fine, second time it started knocking and wouldnt tick over it only appears to start doing when its hot, its not a loud knock just an eratic knock. When it stalls it takes quite a few kicks and some throttle to get going again and will rev fine its only when the revs drop under about 1500rpm it dies? any ideas what it could be? anyone had a simalar problem??
Any help is much appritiated.

hi mate,
it sounds like it could be over heating
have you checked its cooling ok, check the water level and check the stats opening. ..... if no joy check the carbs not blocked as a lean mixture can make it over heat , also check you have the correct spark plug..
good luck timo

have you checked anything yet ,, It could be a blocked fuel filter in the tap/tank,Or a blocked or leaking airfilter sponge ,, Also ,, How are you riding the bike ,, ??Have you rode a crm or two stroke before ? The next thing would be is to ask the person you bought the bike off to point you in the right direction , It well may be a problem he knows about...

Thanks for your help guys, ive soughted the ticking over problem it had a blocked fuel tap, the bloke had recently painted the tank and it appeared to have some dust clogged in there. As for the knocking its still there so i dont know i might just have to wait for it to get worst then ill know where its coming from.

is the knocking only at lower revs or all through the rev range ? could be the balance shaft going. I'm half way through a complete rebuild because the local MOT place said the engine was about to go bang (main bearings gone they said) turns out the balance shaft has worn a bit and needs replacing.

Yes its more noticable at low revs when its ticking over its worst, although you can hear it when your coming down the gears slightly. So your in the process of rebuilding yours and it was a worn balance shaft??
