Hi All,

Just got round to starting to rebuild the bike today. I put the left side crankcase in the oven/main bearing in freezer. All went well except the bearing on the far left fell out. it has a notch cut into it. it appears that the recessed edge of the bearing goes in but the writing on the bearing would then face inward so visible. I'm sure there was no writing visible so which way does this bearing go.

To clarify it is the bearing that the front sprocket would go on (output shaft?)

Cheers

Clint

sorted... recess side facing inwards...... done the jigsaw that was the gearbox, selector drum caused me a headache but it's in now and all gears select fine. Going to start a new thread with all the pics I've taken and title it "First time engine rebuild. If I can do it, anyone can". Will write it all up once I have a working bike again :)

Cheers for that I think you must have posted as I was typing... I asked the guy in leisure trail today. He said "the man who does the rebuilds is on holiday but it appears to go this way". He then had a look on this site so I told him I had checked and then posted :) it says in their shop they are the only crm specialists in the world. Really cool to see them using this site as a resource.
