Removing Cylinder while in frame?

Post by smb2200 »

Hi Huys,

Just wondering how you get the cylinder off while the engine is still in the frame. I have the head off already.

The exhaust studs seem to hit the frame. Is there someway of getting around this??

Your help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

On my mk2 i had to take off the oil line connecting to the frame to get the barrel off. It may have been possible without doing that but it helped. Just takes a bit of fiddling around to get out. You should definetly be able to get it out while the engines in the frame

Thanks for the reply CRM'er.

Managed to get the cylinder off but had to undo the engine mount bolts and swingarm (which was a chance to grease it anyway), to rotate the engine slightly. Mainly because the exhaust studs where hitting the frame.

I also had to undo the oil pipe as you said.

Thanks again,
