New to dogging
Hi all, just a quick one to say hello. Just bought a Mk2 to renovate (Didnt actually buy it for that, but when i got it home i realized it was facked!)
Anyway, live in Lancashire an bought the beast to try me luck with the green lanes, never done much off road so i`ll probably be askin some stoopid questions!
Also own a CCM 644 Dual Sport but im too feeble to take this off road, an i dont like it gettin sh!t up.
Cheers... Jason
PS.... I dont really go dogging.

Hi Jason, and welcome to our site.
Yes, as you've discovered, some of the CRM range are, Hhhmm, like their owners, getting a bit long in the tooth.
However, with a rebuild and a modicum of sensible maintenance, should go on to give many years service yet.
I took out my MK3 yesterday, and comfortably put 120 miles on her.
As for the CCM, well, stop namby pambying about, what are you, a man or mouse they must go 1/2 ton, before they've even reached the first lane.
PS you have quite an active TRF group in your area, which would be worth joining, so as to be shown around the legal trails, it would be a pity to see that fully restored CRM put through the crusher.

I bought a ccm 640 with big bore supermoto wheels full system etc last year and holed the piston after 500m was sick as a pig good stunter though finding this crm really easy to work on removed the 48t rear and running the 42 it wheelies like a loony tune.

Yeah, mine has supermoto wheels, thats why i dont wanna go off road wi it. By the time you buy off road wheels, swap em, mess about wi speedo an that, its easier just gettin another bike.
So i did :) I like tinkerin wi 2 strokes, just so easy. Plus they`re nice an light bikes too, just waht tha needs for off road. CCM is too heavy for me off road, so yes - i am a mouse... lol

Re: New to dogging
Stripped the back end down, been seein if i can get a decent shock instead of gettin mine serviced. Hope it might be cheaper an save time.
Thing is, i keep goin in the shed, lookin at the bike an keep thinkin --> shall i mint it, or just do the bits it needs to get it mot`d. Think i`ll just give it a proper clean an do the bits that need doin. Its a battle though, keep arguin wi meself..lol

The only alternative you will find to the Honda original is a Hagon shock.

Servicing is much the better way to go.
