Cuts out - electrical
Hi Guys.
I have an AR which has had a switch fitted for the lights.
All was fine until I went out at the weekend then the bike kept cutting out for very brief periods, then altogether when the light switch was switched on.
With the switch off the bike runs , as soon as I flick the lights on it dies. Have checked the switch and changed it just in case. The red wire from the switch goes to a black/green wire in the loom and the black wire from the switch goes to frame earth.
It seems a bit of an odd setup....... lights need to be switched off to start the bike , once running they can be switched on.... however the lights now kill the engine.
Any ideas.............
Cheers

Re: Cuts out - electrical
Failing regulator or alternator? You'll meed to bet to to check voltage across the capacitor when running to see the state of the charging circuit.
Good luck!

Faulty earth/crossed circuit in the lighting circuit.
