Autolube setup
Hi fellas. My CRM has an oil pump but the hoses have been removed. It was like this when I purchased it. Should I just use a similar size diameter hose for each pipe or do I need to get specials ones? In the diagram I have it looks like the hoses are bent/shaped in a particular way. I'm thinking this is to prevent the hoses getting blocked and starving the engine of oil. Thank you

Don't need specially bent hoses just make sure they are able to resist petrol and it's good to have thicker walls as that resists kinking. Keep them loose.

Some people also use a clear hose so as you can see at a glance if oil is still in the system.

That's a good idea. Well tonight I poured some out into the frame to see what would happen after connecting some of the rubber pipes. The oil spilled out of a pipe connector? from under the petrol tank that has nothing connected to it. Any ideas what this could be? I assumed the pipe at the front of the frame fed the autolube with oil and then a pipe went from the autolube to the carb area. Could it be an oil level switch socket? Cheers

Not sure what you mean. On a Mk1s and 2s there is a tube that runs above the cylinder head and connects one side of the frame to the other. Both hold 2 stroke oil.

Hello. I have a few questions please fellas. I've connected all pipes and the new speedo cable and the pump pulses oil out with the engine started. Does this sound correct? Can anyone provide a picture of how the oil pump cable should be rooted please? And finally where can I get the small metal plate that sits between the oil pump housing and the cable or could I make one? I imagine it stops dirt getting into the oil pump. Oh one final question. Does the pipe carrying oil that goes over the cylinder head need some sort of heat protection? Thanks in advance. https://imgur.com/a/XNe43

no oil should pass the pump without engine running. I guess you found out why it was disconnected!! All it will do is fill your crankcase with oil.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I didn't phrase the question properly. Engine off and a no/tiny amount of oil passes the pump. Engine on and the pump pulses/pumps a very small quantity of oil. I'll post a video when I can to check. Cheers

Sounds good to me. All you can really check is if the pump works. It's very difficult to work out if the quantities are correct but the only faults I have heard of are:
Not pumping at all.
Letting oil though into the crank case - seal issue.

Hi fellas. Could you have a look at the picture and video below. There seems to be far too many bubbles in the pipe for my liking. I've bled the oil pump as per the manual. Does this look correct? Thanks very much

I wouldnt be happy with that at all. Having said that my pipe is not clear so I wouldnt know!!!
I would add a clear into the pump so you can see if the bubbles are from a leak in the pump or from before it.
