Thanks for a great day.
Looking back I think it pretty well had it all.
Deep river crossings, torrential rain, washed out bridges with blocked exits and of course, roads with rocks in :o . My Crm did not blow up :D but I did try to climb a verticle bank with it and ended up I a heap on the floor. Thank flook it was too wet for the head cam
We even managed a couple of lanes by candle light to finish it off.
Thanks Mickstoy for the company and Slider for leading, I think I owe you a full day next time.
It just goes to show the old advert was right “ you meet the nicest people on a Honda” 8)
PS Now look out for all the questions in the Tech section

You should have been in Wales, then. We didn't get rained on on the bikes all day on Sunday.

Not so on Saturday, where we got rain and heavy hail. I clearly remember thinking "I am really glad I bought an off-road lid with a visor option. I do wish I had brought it"

Christened both the EC200 and the CRM. I had a lot more trouble with the EC on sunday than the CRM on saturday, but the trails we were doing were a lot harder. And I am still pretty much an off-road novice.

Eventually my mates might stop ribbing me for missing a stone-slab bridge and landing in the river, being hauled out, then falling straight back off the bridge again.

Saturday was in the area around Ponterwyd (we parked the vans at the Bwlch Nant Yr Arian forestry commision site.) We had the Trailrides-Wales.co.uk chaps as guides in the morning and a couple of total novices on hired bikes. One bike broke its chain and another was comprehensively drowned when somebody missed a bridge over a swolen river (described by a spectator as ""crash" is such an undescriptive term though - wasn't it more of a
cross between a cliffhanger and a nac nac? (and a bit of tombstoning
to finish ;-)"). This combined with the driving hailstones thinned the herd a bit, and we did some more challenging and fun stuff in the same area, at higher speeds.

On sunday we started from the car park next to the bridge at Penmaenpool, crossed the bridge and did a loop in Snowdonia, we then crossed the estuary using the railway viaduct from Barmouth (we were told that trail bikes had a special dispensation to use the footpath across the estuary) and did some trails to the south, before returning to base in the dark.

I can get the tracklogs as .kmz if that is any good to you? All trails guaranteed legal.

It was funny and not too painful at the time. I thought I had got away with it but the handlebars struck my ribs. It wasn't too painfull on the day but my chest was really sore on Monday morning and will be for a week or two.
Twice I have been to the Peaks now and twice I have had bruised ribs :) The lesson I am learning is to get some chest protection.
PS
I sent an e mail to pro circuit today for advise on jetting.
I'll also have to sort out the rear light as the one on the bike has gone missing.
