Hi, After a run, I have a petrol/oil leak seaping from the lowest part of the exhaust on my MK2 project, the top end has a slight knock, i'm guessing that maybe all the fuel is not being burnt due to worn piston/rings. I'm planning on rebuilding the top end now i have got the MOT today. Apart from ...

Have you tried turning the petrol off when the bikes parked up , if the inlet valve is letting by slightly this excess fuel could find its way into the crank cases, this could in turn give rise to the pea souper on starting up, it may have no effect but its a nill ...

john they usually smoke more when starting from cold,if it runs clean when warm i'd say you dont have a prob

Thanks for replies. This is my fourth CRM, and it smokes a lot more than any of the others, on start up you could lose an elephant in it for the first 30 seconds or so ...

Hi John, how does the plug look?
I fitted a new plug when I first got it going, its had two good runs since then, so will check at w/end, i'm travelling all week. Thanks

Go down to the dreaded Halfords or similar, buy a compression tester ,its money well spent.
Check the compression before tearing the engine down ,any thing of about 135 + psi should be o/k, check it on a cold engine , ignition off, fuel turned on.

This is a job that I have to do soon, was wondering what the seals on fleabay were like says approx £7 for the pair !

Never worked on forks before and wondered what sort of job it is to do. :?:

yes just tell them it's an enduro bike with those spec's they wont ask questions ,you dont even need indicators.technically acrm is 895mm seat height but they dont know. sometimes they make you wait for afew days and sometimes 1 in a million they wont to see the bike then all you need is £25 worth ...

John crm did you say sva test because crm's dont need them they can be registerd as enduro bikes you tell them about a crm's 900mm seat height which is the legal limit plus the 300mm sump ground clearance which is the minimum allowed then all you need is a standard MOT, reg doc's or owners papers ...
