Aren't these polished aluminium not chrome??

Either way would have thought you could sand it with some fine (say 2000) wet and dry sand paper, then Autosol to a nice mirror finish :?

Just a thought.... might save a few quid :D

Running the bike with a \"slightly damaged balance shaft wont hurt it no. I asked the same question to leisure trail. It all depends how damaged it is really. It's easy to inspect though as d5aul mentioned.

It all depends whether you can stand the whining noise really. I didn't like it personally ...

You can tell if it's the balance shaft as you will hear a \"rotary\" whine which speeds up when you rev the engine. It's quite high pitched, but you will hear it even under no load.

If you hear a \"rotary\" whine thats quite deep and rattly (if thats a word) and it's likely to be main bearings. You ...

Mark,

Hi, i also have a mark 1. Not had this problem on this particular bike, but have seen it a few times on 2 strokes...

I see you've checked the plug, however this could still be the problem, i would try a new one and/or a \"colder\" spark plug. The carbon sitting on the plug and \"glow\" hot ...

Thank for the reply CRMR :)

Managed to \"fix\" the old one in the end. Carefully removed the \"glued in\" HT lead from the coil, although this took a fair bit of time.
Eventually got the outer ring of insulating material out and then just pulled the rest off of the screw type thread and glue ...

HT Ignition Coil ??

Hello,

I pulled the HT lead off the spark plug today to change it and the lead came out of the coil instead :? :(

Anyone know where i can get a new one from, or whether i can use from any bike or is it specific to the CRM ??

A new \"screw\" in HT lead type would be better if available ?

Any ...

Hi Ed,

Have just completed rebuilding my Mk1 after it spat the main bearings out at me!!! So can relate to this.

Had the same problem, but wasn't sure whether the oil pump was working or not.

Rather than the risk blowing of it up again i drained the fuel tank and then refilled with a little ...

Hey guys,

After the \"lake\" incident, my bike is not running at it's best, will get into this weekend and hopefully can be out for next weekend.

CRMR, some good green lanes to go on are on the way to Tilton-on-the Hill. Go on the back roads through Queni' and straight over the A47 crss roads ...

Thanks for the reply CRM'er.

Managed to get the cylinder off but had to undo the engine mount bolts and swingarm (which was a chance to grease it anyway), to rotate the engine slightly. Mainly because the exhaust studs where hitting the frame.

I also had to undo the oil pipe as you said.

Thanks ...

Hi CRMR,

The Watermead Park itself is a no-no, many complaints !! However dont know exactly where you went, so if it's round the back shouldn't be too bad ??

Went out yesterday also (Sunday) around the A47 area to Market Harborough. Some good green lanes round there. Had a little accident on the ...

Removing Cylinder while in frame?

Hi Huys,

Just wondering how you get the cylinder off while the engine is still in the frame. I have the head off already.

The exhaust studs seem to hit the frame. Is there someway of getting around this??

Your help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

CRM's in Leicester revisited...

Hi all,

General post to CRMR's of last year. I also have just bought a MK1 and live in Leicester. Basically looking for some places to go around here or nearby.

Would love to hear from anyone with ideas.

Also ride a ZX6 (in the dryer / warmer parts of the year).

Cheers.
